Which Washington Commanders Jersey Has The Best Win-Loss Percentage?
Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

It has been a brutal five-year stretch to be a football fan in the Nation’s capital. The Washington Commanders have posted a 29-53 (.354) record with zero playoff victories during that stretch. So it’s little surprise that Washington hasn’t had a lot of luck in any of its uniform colors (white, burgundy or black).

BetVirginia.com, where you’ll find unique Virginia sports betting insights, wanted to look at how the Washington Commanders have done while wearing various jerseys since 2019. We compared the results over the past five years to see if any one of the team’s jerseys has a higher win-loss percentage.

After finishing second to last in the NFL during the 2023-24 season, at 4-13, the Washington Commanders can’t do much worse. As for the 2024-25 NFL season, follow Washington Commanders playoff chances with us at BetVirginia.com.

Which Uniforms Are Washington’s Best?

Of the three uniform choices, the team’s white digs have seen the most success. But “success” is relative given the team’s .429 win percentage in that kit since the 2019 NFL season.

That pale jersey combo beat out burgundy, which had a .281 win percentage between 2019 and 2023, while the team’s black jersey combo had the lowest win percentage overall, at .200.

Looking forward, it doesn’t look like Year 1 of the Dan Quinn era in Landover is going to be an overnight success. FanDuel Sportsbook Virginia gives the club +300 odds of making the postseason in 2024, compared with -400 odds that they miss the playoffs again this fall.

As for the team’s win total over/under for the year ahead, FanDuel pins Washington’s figure at 6.5 in 2024, with the over listed at -115 and the under at -105. That illustrates how far the team must go to be respectable in Quinn’s first season with the club.

We don’t know which uniform combo Washington will go with for the Week 1 regular-season opener, on Sept. 8 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We do know that Virginia sportsbook apps list the Commanders as an underdog, with a 3.5-point or 4-point spread for the visitors from the DMV.

Washington fans can only hope that the future will be brighter than the past, as the Commanders look to turn a corner in 2024 after wandering through the NFL’s wilderness for much of the 21st century.
