Virginia Tech MBB Basketball Starting 5, Top Players

The Hokies are in a unique situation because they do not have any returning starters from last season. Their biggest get in the transfer portal for the 2024-25 season is guard Hysier Miller who came from Temple. Miller averaged 15.9 points per game last season.

Other starters for Tech include Duke transfer Jaden Schutt, Charleston transfer Ben Burnham, VCU transfer Toibu Lawal and returning Hokie Mylyjael Poteat who wasn't a consistent starter last year.

Virginia Tech Hokies forward Mylyjael Poteat (34) dunks the ball against Wake Forest Demon Deacons guard Parker Friedrichsen (20) during the second half at Cassell Coliseum.
