The tight end position always has been the safety valve for NFL quarterbacks week after week. When the QB needs a first down, chances are he is throwing to his strong and reliable tight end.
We always see our fantasy leagues taken down by a late-round stellar pick or an incredible mid-season pickup. As we move into the typical Fantasy Playoffs period for most leagues, BetVirginia.com – your source for Virginia sports betting – wanted to analyze which tight ends performed better than expected this season. So, we utilized FantasyData.com to compile the current fantasy rankings of TEs after Week 13 in a standard points per reception (PPR) league and then found the ADP fantasy rankings for a standard PPR league before the season. Note that tight ends were only included if they were in the Top 40 in original ADP rankings.
High-Performing Fantasy Tight Ends
In fantasy and with Virginia sports apps, information is so important. Here are the biggest movers entering Week 14:
Thomas Key in Washington Offense
Washington Commanders veteran tight end Logan Thomas is tied with the Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride for No. 1 on the list.
Thomas has made a 25-spot jump from the start of the season (38th) to 13th currently with 8.6 fantasy points per game, 1.3 less than McBride. In his fourth year with the Commanders, Thomas has 45 receptions for 424 yards (9.4 yards per catch) with three touchdowns but has not had a score in five consecutive games for Washington.
Thomas’s biggest game of the season came in a 40-20 home loss to the Chicago Bears on Oct. 5, where he had nine catches (11 targets) for 77 yards and one TD. The Commanders (4-9) have a bye this week and will return to action at the Los Angeles Rams Dec. 17.
