The Caitlin Clark Effect is proving to have legs, as the Indiana Fever have pulled down the most search volume of any women’s professional sports franchise so far in 2025.
This year, Clark and the Indiana Fever are listed at +450 odds to win the WNBA championship in 2025 on Hard Rock Bet Virginia Sportsbook, as of Feb. 19. That’s fourth behind the defending champion New York Liberty (+210), Las Vegas Aces (+275) and Minnesota Lynx (+375), thanks in large part to the guard’s presence in the backcourt.

Clark, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star and top pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has led the charge for the Hoosier State franchise’s popularity. She finished her rookie campaign in Indianapolis with 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game to her name, winning the WNBA Rookie of the Year award and amassing 3.0 win shares in 40 games. She also cemented her status as the sport’s next big star. WNBA futures for the 2025 season are available now at Virginia sports betting sites.
With a search volume of 1.830 million during the period in question, Clark and the Fever are the most popular women’s sports franchise in America, by far. They have nearly six times the volume of the next closest club, that being the team’s WNBA rivals from the Windy City.
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky were second overall, with a search volume of 368,000, boosted by Reese’s strong rookie season. WNBA teams dominate this list, with the Las Vegas Aces (201,000 search volume), New York Liberty (135,000) and Minnesota Lynx (110,000) rounding out the top five.
The Washington Mystics, a +10000 longshot at bet365 Virginia Sportsbook to win the 2025 WNBA title, are tied for No. 11 on our list with the Los Angeles Sparks, both drawing a search volume of 49,500 during the one-month span that we researched.
The top non-WNBA franchise on the women’s sports search volume leaderboard was Bay FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, which placed 13th overall with a volume of 40,500. That was ahead of fellow NWSL clubs Angel City FC and the Washington Spirit, who ranked in a tie for 14th with a search volume of 33,100 apiece, rounding out the list of the most popular women’s franchises in 2025.
