It has been a rip-roaring start to the season for the Washington Commanders and their rookie quarterback – check out Jayden Daniels Rookie of the Year odds for proof. Daniels ranks third in the NFL in QBR (73.9) through seven games as he tries to guide the NFC East franchise toward its first playoff berth since 2020.
As of Oct. 24, the 23-year-old first round pick out of LSU is listed as questionable to play in the Commanders’ Sunday afternoon home clash against the Chicago Bears with a rib injury, but there’s no denying how successful the rookie QB has been. He has been tearing it up on the field and his jerseys have been selling up and down the east coast.
BetVirginia.com, where you’ll find the best Virginia sportsbook promo codes, used Google Trends to look at the most searched NFL quarterback jerseys throughout the current season. We entered the phrase “player name jersey” to see how much NFL fans are searching to buy their favorite players’ jersey. The time period for this data collection was Sept. 1 to Oct. 23, 2024.

Across the NFL, Daniels posted the highest search interest score (20) of any NFL quarterback, showcasing how popular the rookie is when it comes to jersey sales off the bat with the Commanders. One interesting aspect of the numbers is that young quarterbacks are popular as far as internet searches for their jersey.
Leaguewide, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft beat out D.C. native and fellow rookie Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears (17 search interest score), who was the top overall draft selection. Second-year star CJ Stroud of the Houston Texans ranked third across the NFL, with a search interest score of 16.
For Virginia sports betting, those three are on a good trajectory for their playoff odds. At BetMGM, the Commanders (5-2) have -275 odds to make the playoffs and +220 odds to miss out. The Bears (4-2) are +165 to make and -200 to miss; the Texans (5-2) are -1200 to qualify for the postseason and +750 to miss.
Three-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes (15 search interest score), Baltimore Ravens two-time MVP QB Lamar Jackson and Buffalo Bills star gunslinger Josh Allen (14 search interest score each) rounded out the top five in the league.
Virginia sports betting apps list the two-time defending champion Chiefs as the favorites to repeat; the Ravens and Bills are also well up on the odds boards.
Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers (11 search interest score), Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys (9), Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets (8), then Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles (7) rounded out the NFL jersey sales interest chart this year.
Still, no QB in the NFL is moving the needle, for internet searches about jersey sales faster than Washington’s rookie star under center. Daniels is doing his part to spearhead Washington’s current +135 odds to win the NFC East at bet365 Virginia Sportsbook.
