First NFL Rookie Quarterback To Reach 5 Passing Touchdowns

After two weeks of NFL football, it’s becoming clearer which first-year quarterbacks have gotten off on the right foot and which ones might be bound for turbulent rookie seasons in the league and at Virginia sportsbooks.

Between No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels and 12th pick Bo Nix, none of the three have thrown a single touchdown pass this season, with Daniels throwing for the most yards of the trio (410) and having thrown zero interceptions on 53 pass attempts this year for the Washington Commanders.

Nix has thrown the most interceptions (four) and has the second best QBR of the bunch (35.4), while Williams has the lowest QBR (23.9) and the lowest passing yardage total (267) of the three. Daniels has the best QBR (46.4) and the most rushing yards (132) for the Commanders this year.

All of this is to say BetVirginia.com wanted to contextualize which rookie QB has the best odds of throwing for five touchdowns first in 2024, with none of the three rookies to have played major minutes so far rushing to get to that milestone in 2024.

Williams The Favorite Over Jayden Daniels

It looks like Williams is the odds-on favorite to hit the minor milestone first in 2024. Chicago's next three games are against winless opponents so far in the Indianapolis Colts, LA Rams and Carolina Panthers.

Williams barely beat out Daniels (+225) and Nix (+275) to hit five touchdown passes first on our odds board, with a pair of rookies that have yet to take a snap in the regular season (Drake Maye and Michael Penix Jr.) listed at +3500 and +35000 apiece.

In Week 3, Williams will look to find the end zone early and often when Chicago plays the Colts on the road, while Daniels and the Commanders play the Cincinnati Bengals on the road and Nix and the Broncos head to South Florida to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We have your Commanders vs. Bengals Odds page up and running ahead of that tilt, as well.

With any luck, one of the three (or more) could reach that five passing touchdown milestone in the next few weeks, though the prospect of picking up a win is probably of greater importance to each of the three rookies entering Week 3 of the NFL’s regular season.
