Change is coming to Charlottesville in 2025. That’s because former UMBC, Utah State and VCU head coach Ryan Odom will take over for Tony Bennett as the Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball head coach. The Cavaliers went 15-17 this season under interim coach Ron Sanchez in 2024-25, who took over after Bennett’s sudden resignation but was not retained.
One thing that Odom will have to do out of the gate is find a new guard. Fourth-year backcourt star Isaac McKneely is in the transfer portal after averaging 14.4 points per game for the Cavs last season. BetVirginia.com broke down odds on where the West Virginia native will go next.
